Hey Y’all!
For those of you who don’t know, I started a podcast called “This is Living” recently and wanted to share with you guys more about what it’s about and what it is to truly live.
John 10:10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Don’t Let the Thief Steal, Kill, and Destroy
I can thankfully say I haven’t been robbed physically but that’s not the only areas of life a person can be robbed in. People can be robbed emotionally, spiritually, and so on and so forth. Whatever you crack the door open to, the enemy can run in and start trying to steal. If you are emotional, maybe someone passed or a bad breakup, and all you do is crank some sad music in your car about being sad and depressed then guess what? You have opened a door for the thief to come steal your joy and that can lead to destruction so quickly. When I was a kid and was dealing with suicidal thoughts listening to the wrong kind of music just kept me where I was at and it did almost kill me because I was ready to take my life into my own hands. It helped me stay with the lies and was guiding me to self-destruction. John 8:44 talks about how Satan is the father of lies. He will tell you a long list of things you have that don’t coincide with the word. Something I’ve heard many preachers say is that even though the doctor tells you something doesn’t mean you have to sign off on it! Don’t sign off on anxiety, sickness, depression, poverty. That’s not the way to live!
ABUNDANT LIFE
A life with Jesus is a life of abundance. Abundance is defined as a very large quantity of something. That means it’s your cup running over, it’s more than enough and our lives ought to be full of that abundance! What we should sign on is that overflowing peace, joy, and blessing is our portion. When Jesus came it was so He could live out His assignment on earth, break the curse of the law, and that we would enjoy life and have it in abundance! Life is worth living when you fill it with what the Word says to. The world is hung up on the idea that living a full life is one that’s filled with drinking, partying, etc. That’s not true living. Matthew 16:25 says, “If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” True living begins at salvation. When I gave every part of my life to Jesus and made Him Lord of my life that’s when I began to truly live. That’s when joy settled in and peace! When Jesus comes, when the Holy Spirit comes, your life starts to turn around. You see different, you walk different, you talk different, you even look different. You start to see the Lord’s hand on your life and wisdom comes and it allows you to protect your peace.
Life with Jesus, Now THAT’S Truly Living
I was sitting at home scrolling through a reel and the audio just said “WE’RE ALIIIIIIVE, WE GOTTA GO LIVE” and it hit me. It’s a little odd but it just flooded my mind with how my life was on the cusp of ending and the Lord saved me and now I get to live a full life. It took me right to that spot where I stood in a stadium with thousands of teenagers and the depression lifting off of me. The presence of God is so real and tangible and it’s evident in the world around you.
Romans 1:19-23
In reality, the truth of God is known instinctively, for God has embedded this knowledge inside every human heart. Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse. Throughout human history the fingerprints of God were upon them, yet they refused to honor him as God or even be thankful for his kindness. Instead, they entertained corrupt and foolish thoughts about what God was like. This left them with nothing but misguided hearts, steeped in moral darkness. Although claiming to be wise, they were in fact shallow fools. For only a fool would trade the unfading splendor of the immortal God to worship the fading image of other humans, idols made to look like people, animals, birds, and even creeping reptiles!
The world is big and beautiful. The same creator who made the world made you and this world needs you to live at your fullest potential with Jesus! It’s worth it in ways you’ll never know until you choose to live the Bible way and invite the Lord to have access to all of your life.
Sincerely,
Kez
