Perspective

Hey Friends,

Resurrection weekend is always one of my favorite times of the year. The older I get the more special it means to me. I love it for what it means not just for myself but for every person. I remember watching a movie called Miracle Maker – and I still watch it every year even if my friends are haters and say it looks weird because of claymation – that really shaped my early memories of learning the gospel.

One of the greatest misconceptions in life is that people actually don’t know what salvation means for them outside of saying the prayer. We get to operate under a better covenant with better promises. The blood of Jesus made not just a way for us to enter into relationship with the Lord personally and eliminate sacrificing the blood of bulls and goats but to access a better way of living.

Isaiah 12:3 AMPC

Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

John 10:10

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

II Corinthians 8:9

For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied).

What the Death and Resurrection of Christ Mean for All

People think you say the sinner’s prayer and then that’s all. You just receive this assurance of Heaven and that’s it. It truly is SO much more than that! We are wiped clean of our sins. I don’t know about you but I have dropped sauces on my shirts and gotten stains that I can't get out but a drop of blood made us white as snow. The Word says our sins were removed as far as the east is from the west which is an unending distance.

The Benefits of Our Salvation

I feel like knowing we’re forgiven is the very essence and widely known understanding of salvation, but what if I told you this means you also have access to perfect health, provision, and just a life that we can enjoy? These too are benefits of our salvation. There’s nowhere I’ve ever read that says christians should be miserable, flat out broke, and sick. There are people who live believing being sick, broke, and miserable is a badge of honor but that’s actually the worst example we could ever be of an everlasting King who owns everything and loves His children.

When you read Isaiah 53:5 I want you to see that it says we were healed. That means we are not waiting till tomorrow, next week, a month from now, or years down the road. It MEANS we are ALREADY healed. Heal-ED equals past tense. The way you get ahold of that is the same way you grab ahold of your salvation. You speak it and believe it. You don’t see that you’re saved, you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. Healing is that simple and is in fact a benefit.

Provision too is no different. Money is actually the thing Jesus spoke the most about. Money is not bad, loving money is bad. We can’t fund the gospel or really live without money and if we want to make an impact we have to increase not just in the spiritual aspects of life but financially too. So many stories in the Bible are stories of provision and healing and to believe being broke is God’s perfect will is not in line with the Word. He became poor so that we could be rich. Jesus took on literally everything unpleasant in this world so that we could live a different life!

The Best News

The greatest and best news we will ever know is that Jesus came for everyone, died, rose again, and He is coming back again! Jesus is our blessed hope and while we live on this Earth our job is to live a life where we bring people into the family of God so tap into the Word and live out of the overflow Jesus says He’s come to give us. If you have a friend or family member or stranger that you’d like to lead to Christ share this with them or call them up and pray this upcoming prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,
Come into my heart and wash me clean.
Thank you for dying for me and setting me free.
Thank you, Jesus, that you’re coming back for me!
Give me a passion for the lost, a boldness to share the gospel,
And a hunger for the things of God.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen!

Till Next Time!
